Many companies already run their operations in spreadsheets. Glide builds on that fact: it turns Excel and Google Sheets into internal business apps and AI agents for work such as inventory, field sales, work orders and inspections1.

Best for: Operations teams whose work already lives in Excel or Google Sheets and who want apps and AI agents on that data without moving it.

Not the right fit for: Companies that need annual contracts now, SSO and audit logs without Enterprise, or data beyond what spreadsheets comfortably hold.

What Glide does

Glide's AI reads the sheets, including formulas and notes, and an agent builds apps from the data. Ask Glide answers questions from live data and can take action, and Inspect explains how a figure was calculated. Companies can also bring their own agent, such as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT, through MCP1. For administrators, Glide offers a list of approved models and AI spending budgets by team and model1.

Plans and governance

Glide bills monthly only; annual plans are described as coming soon. Basic costs $25 a month with two members and two published apps, Plus $50 and Pro $125, and the free plan cannot publish apps2. Building and AI use are metered in credits, which Glide describes as standardised model tokens2. Organisation-level roles start on Pro; SSO, audit logs, project-level roles and a publishing-approval step are Enterprise features2.

Published evidence

  • CarboNet. Glide reports that CarboNet built a custom environmental management system, cut its IT budget by 40% and saved about an hour per employee per day. Vendor-reported.3

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Starts from the spreadsheets a business already uses, which is where many operations actually live.
  • Governance for AI use, including approved models and AI spending budgets by team and model.
  • Unlimited guests on paid plans keep costs flat for occasional users.

Limits

  • Only monthly billing is offered; annual plans are "coming soon".
  • Credits meter both building and AI use, and the price of extra credits is not shown.
  • SSO and audit logs are Enterprise features; organisation-level roles start on Pro.
  • The free plan cannot publish apps.

Choose another option if: You are ready to move off spreadsheets into one system (OpenLazarus) or a proper shared database (Airtable).

Pricing

Published, monthly: Basic $25, Plus $50 and Pro $125 a month, with credits included. Enterprise on request.

Questions to ask Glide

  • How many credits would our apps and agents use in a normal month, and what do extra credits cost?
  • Which actions can Ask Glide take on our data, and can we require approval?
  • When will annual billing be available?
  • At what size does our spreadsheet data stop being a good foundation?
